Arthur Price was named after its founder in the year 1902, building a reputation for timeless, cutting-edge silverware. The company was the first to move beyond silver metal and manufactured chromium - and later on using stainless steel - plates, spoons, and forks for less staining and maintenance. By the 1950s, Arthur Price was exported internationally and was the largest manufacturer of stainless steel cutlery in the UK.
Today, Arthur Price remains a family business. Father and Son tandem Simon and James Price head the company as the 4th and 5th generation Price on board. In their commitment to innovation, the company partners with various designers such as interior designers and jewelry makers for changing designs. From heirloom to everyday cutlery, Arthur Price keeps its long-standing 50-year guarantee as a testament that their cutlery will last a lifetime.
Best known for
Arthur Price is best known for its timeless cutlery sets.
Arthur Price uses 18/10 stainless steel, which denotes an 18% Chromium and 10% Nickel content. This formulation ensures the knives do not corrode as quickly and look shiny new for longer.
The 18/10 stainless steel used on the blades is also used for the handles.
Sharpening & Maintenance
Arthur Price reassures there is little need for sharpening its cutlery to enjoy these for years on end. But should this be necessary, its knives have a high hardness grade of 70 HRC which would be best suited for the Japanese Approach.
